Notes:
Beer no 32 of 1001.
I’ve been away from the blog and the beers on the list for a while but thought I’d try and cross a few more off the list.
So to Mikkeller Beer Geek Breakfast, a Danish Dark Beer from the Mikeller brewery.
The tasting notes in the book say:
“The genius of this beer is in the use of Centenial and Cascade hops, which means that the malts and coffee don’t overwhelm completely. There’s a balance of bitter chocolate-covered raisins and coffee beans with a lighter tingly freshness that makes it refreshing enough for brunch.”
For my tasting, I definitely got the chocolatey/coffee/malt flavours coming through in this oatmeal stout.
I mustb admit I was drinking it in the earlier evening rather than for a refreshing brunch as suggested by the Books Tasting notes but I like it and would happliy drink it again.
