OK, so here’s a little introduction to this site.
It’s going to be mainly about beer as it has been inspired by my attempts to work my way through 1001 Beers.
Why 1001 Beers?, well that is as a result of a birthday present bought for me on my 37th birthday in January 2011 by a good friend whom I have drunk many beers (and other alcoholic beverages with) over the last 20 odd years.
The book is entitled “1001 Beers You Must Try Before You Die” By Adrian Tierney Jones and if you are a beer drinker who is looking to broaden their horizons or just know someone who is, this is a book well worth getting.
I must admit that prior to receiving this book, I was predominantly a lager drinker and arguably remain so, however this book has led me to try beers, I would never have tried before and I have already found several, I would happily drink again along with one or two others that I definitely wouldn’t.
Although I had drunk several of the beers listed in the book prior to receiving it, I decided to start again from scratch and work my through the book.
There is little logic or planning in the order in which I am working my way through the beers, it’s more just down to where and when I can get my hands on them.
Don’t expect too much from this blog, it won’t be all flowery descriptions about aromas and stuff, although I may tell you what the book has to say about the beers flavours, it’ll be more about whether I liked the beer or not and if I’d be happy to drink it again.
